buggs.io is a free multiplayer arena game where you play a bug. Eat to grow longer, cut the other bugs off, and fire power-ups from five loadout slots. No download and no account: a nickname is enough, on desktop or phone.

How it works

• You never stop moving. Steer, but there is no brake.
• Eat grass, mushroom patches and whatever fallen bugs leave behind.
• If your head touches another bug's body, you're out, and your mass becomes food for everyone else. Your own body is safe, so coil around rivals.
• Boost nearly doubles your speed, but it burns your mass and drops it behind you as food.

Features

• 33 real bug species, each with its Latin name, its own passive and bots that play the way that bug would.
• 18 power-ups across five loadout slots (keys 1 to 5). Every 10th kill in a run refills one, up to five times.
• Two maps: Meadow, and Haunted Hollow, a Halloween arena with pumpkins, gravestones, candles and mist that stays after the season.
• Weather rolls in every five minutes: circles you want your head out of, with a power-up cache in the middle.
• 198 skins and 25 trails, every one drawn from a data recipe rather than hand-made art.
• Coins are optional. Charges, cooldowns and loadout slots are never sold.
